Hi there 🙂
I hope your weekend is great so far 😀
When it comes to picking a niche, there are several things you should keep in mind, and the last days we’ve gone over a few of them, such as:
- What criteria to look at.
- Money AND passion.
But there’s more to it…
>Your limitations
When I was 15, I decided I wanted to become a journalist when I grew up.
I loved writing, and I was excellent at writing stories. I knew the rules for Danish grammar and spelling, and I’ve seen a lot of American movies about journalists, drinking whisky and writing articles that became world famous.
That was so me!
I pushed my way into an internship on a big Danish newspaper house and was told that when I’d finished school, they would love to have me as an employee.
But… there was only one minor issue for me…
I hated to call people on the phone!
And since there were no email or even fax machines around back then, using the phone was a necessity.
I recognized that this was a limitation, and I figured that I would never come to love that part of the job, so I gave up my dream on the spot.
I’m glad I did.
What are your limitations?
Do you hate to blog?
Then you certainly shouldn’t go that way.
In order to be a successful blogger, you have to blog frequently – daily is best – and if this is something you hate, then your online “job” will become a nightmare.
Do you hate making videos?
Then don’t force yourself…
Write instead. Or do podcasts.
Whatever you do it’s important that you recognize your limitations and figure out if you can:
- Overcome your limitations or
- Drop it and do something else.
If you want to do something you really hate, or are afraid of, and you don’t change, then you’re just wasting your time.
Some things never change.
I still hate using a telephone.
Luckily – no – based on my decisions – I don’t have to use a telephone to make a living.
Alright…
Enough for today.
Let’s get back to some relaxing, shall we?
Best regards,
P.S. Look out for a great present from me, soon 🙂 Something you won’t see anywhere else…
