1-Minute List Builder – Hacked? – Black Hat worries you?

Hi you

You’ll want this link in a moment: http://malka.im/e/1minlist

So it’s sunny and warm outside, and we don’t get to see the cat, Frostie, much. He’s either lying on the balcony, or sitting on the railing of it, watching the birds.

Once in a while, he steps inside to gobble up half a bowl of water.

He’s happy. And so are we.

I’ve added a table of contents to this mail. You should be able to use it to quickly jump to the section that captures your interest.

1-Minute List Builder WordPress Plugin

George ‘Prolific’ Katsoudas is launching a new WordPress plugin in a few hours.

I’ll tell you about it already now and send you a mail at launch time, because he’s selling it at a dime-sale.

This plugin makes it easy to create unblockable lightbox popup or exit popups.

You can add text, pictures, opt-in forms, etc., and you can format it easily with the help of the build-in editor.

You can even rotate three different messages and test which one works best.

And you can have individual messages (up to three) on every page or post, if you like.

You can see a video of what it does here: http://malka.im/e/1minlist

You’ll love it!

You can only get it for a very limited period of time, by the way.

Hacked Without Your Knowledge?

Could your site or blog have been hacked without your knowledge?

In fact, that’s what happened to my main Danish site a couple of years ago.

I don’t remember why, but one of my friends from Portugal got hold of the URL and asked me:

Why do you have viagra adverts on your site?

I went in WTF-mode, checked the site, and had no idea what he was talking about. The site looked just as it should.

In my eyes…

The problem was that Google saw something else. They saw exactly the same thing my friend did, and they wrote to tell me. Only at that time, I didn’t check my GMail, because we were moving.

So it was only when my site was completely removed from Google’s index that I realised I should act.

I asked my friend if he still saw those dreaded adverts for medicin, and yes, he did.

I checked myself, and I asked other friends to check, and all we saw was tips for the computer. Tips that I had written.

What was going on?

With the help of our host, we found out that yes, the site had been hacked. In fact, it was before we moved to that host. We’d just copied and pasted the malevolent code as well.

This code was so cleverly written that it was invisible for normal visitors, but visible to the search engines.

Why could my friend see it?

Because he was using a special Linux browser.

There’s a way you can check your site for free, and I still use it to check this Danish site. The bad code hasn’t returned, but I stay careful.

You can sign up for free at Delorie.com. You’ll have to add a piece of code to your site, and then you can survey it, like I’ve done here:

How do you avoid getting hacked?

There’s no 100% secure way, but if you keep your blogs and forums updated, you’re almost on safe ground.

In my case, it was a forgotten, unused forum that got me.

Product Creator? What to Do About Black Hat Forums

Do you remember last week, I said that you could get a nice Facebook Like Viral plugin?

The product creator removed the offer. She told me that her product had been hacked by BHW. When I asked her what that was, she said “Black Hat World”, and then I understood.

In fact, what happened was that somebody got hold of her product and shared it on a Black Hat forum, where everybody else could download it for free.

And she didn’t want that.

That happened to my “Squick Money” product, too. I asked in a group if it was possible to get it removed, and it is, but it’s a time consuming procedure, and I didn’t want to waste that time.

Instead, I chose to feel flattered about being famous enough to get on a Black Hat forum. LOL

Michael Oksa from the http://malka.im/e/obi forum has shared what he does, and that sounds very clever to me.

He figures that if his e-book has gone viral, why not use it to gain more subscribers?

So he ads something along the following to his e-books:

If you got a copy of this guide from a friend, then you need to do two things:
1. Thank your friend.
2. Go to [URL LINK] and sign up for more tips, tricks, and other exclusive information.

Clever, don’t you think?

There are, by the way, plenty of great tips to get from that forum, so I highly suggest you sign up.

Don’t Forget the Good Stuff From Last Time

Free Amazon Affiliate Formula

Sara Young gives away a video that shows her formula for making money online with free means and on auto-pilot. Once the system is set up, it keeps running.

I know this to be true, because the blog post I made in 2010 still brings me money.

Even if you have no intention of buying her Easy Paycheck Formula 2 later on, you should go and watch the video.

You can learn a lot from it, and judging from the comments below, people love it.

It will only stay up for seven days, so you’d better watch it now: => http://malka.im/e/epfvideo1

Secret Tags on Pictures

You know how pictures go viral… And you’ve probably noticed that Facebook and other places like that have more pictures than text.

Elite Email Marketing Academy

You’ve probably heard a thousand times that “the money is in the list”, and that’s true, but it’s much more than that.

I’ve told you about it before, but when my main Danish site got de-indexed by Google, if I hadn’t been running a list, I would have gone broke.

Now I had a list, and I could just continue to send them good tips and lead them to my site.

When I started out, I used my email client. Later on, I had a complicated combination of my email client and a perl script and a text file.

I played around with it a lot, and it took time to figure all that out. When somebody suggested AWeber (for $15 per month back then), I hesitated for a year or so. That was a huge amount of money!

So how does a newbie get started?

Today, it’s a lot easier, because there are courses that will teach you email marketing and list building. That was not the case when I started.

You’re in luck 🙂

And last week, I purchased a course called “Elite Email Marketing Academy”, made by a man who makes hundreds of dollars daily with a rather small list.

I like his ethical point of view. There are no “treat them like cash cows” or “let’s just spam them with product promotions”.

No, he teaches things I can agree with, like that you have to give value, and that you have to share tips.

I’m only through the first two modules right now (there are transcripts of the videos for module one, but I only discovered that AFTER having seen them all), but so far I really love it.

If you want to start an Internet business, I think the MOST important place to start is by building a list and getting a relationship with that list.

I suggest you take a look at this product: http://malka.im/e/elitemail

Best regards,

  1. I love that email idea you mentioned in a previous post about the script you install on your web site for the emails sent out through Amazon. Great idea.

I just wanted to pop in to say how much I appreciate all the fabulous info you keep sending my way!
