Did you know that I once worked in a supermarket? For ten years, actually. I’d been studying all my life. I mean, all 20 years of it, and I wanted new challenges.
It was common in the supermarket I worked in to move the employees around so that they didn’t always work in the same department. So during one horrible period of my life, they’d planted me in the fruit and vegetable department.
Why the horror?
Because of two things:
- Having to get up at 5am.
- Poisonous spiders.
Back then, I was definitely a B-type personality. I could stay awake for long, and preferred to sleep until 10 or so in the morning. But while I worked with the green stuff, I had to be at work at 6am. Horrible!
As if that wasn’t enough, I heard stories about how spiders would be packed with the bananas and kill employees who unpacked them. I can tell you that sticking my hands inside those boxes… I hated it. Every single day.
I was so scared… and yet, I had to do it.
Same thing about online business, isn’t it?
It takes overcoming the fear… Or at least feeling it and doing it anyway.
