When I was young, I dreamed about writing a book. I said to myself: “When I get a computer, I’ll write a book.”
In 1993 I bought my first PC. I’d had other computers before that, but those were for gaming.
This was my first computer. A Texas TI-99 published in 1981. I got it in 1982.
Haha, funny, today I use a PC for gaming, but back then I intended to use it for serious business. (If you’re a Windows user you hate me now, don’t you? 😉 )
As you can guess, I wrote my first book in 1998. Yeah, five years after I got a computer. I was without excuses in that period, but I managed to drag it five years without writing the book.
Not bad.
But what tools do you really need to write a book?
Paper and dirty nails?
I would suggest a computer with a keyboard and then one of the following programs:
-
Open Office.
-
Word.
-
Scrivener.
Of the three, Scrivener is the best for writers. It’s designed for writers. It’s created for writers.
If you’re a writer, you’ll love it. Period.

P.S. Enough for today. Tomorrow we’ll talk about publishing your book. You have 24 hours to write it 😉
