[Affiliate] Shortcut to 10K (list building)

This post may contain affiliate and ad links for which I earn commissions.

It’s totally quiet here today. Memorial day in Israel.

So we heard the sirens at 11am here… Our cat, Frostie, didn’t move to begin with. He kept an eye on us. He’s figured out that all loud noises are not dangerous, and by studying our reactions he is able to stay where he is instead of running to our entrance in panic.

When I was terrified of flying, I did the same thing: Checked the stewardesses. As long as I didn’t see panic in their eyes, I felt somewhat safe.

Clever cat 😉

Yesterday, I wrote about list building and how important that is for your business.

Today and the following two days, I’ll tell you about products that teaches an alternative way to build a list.

The traditional way:

1: Create a freebie (or use PLR).
2: Set up a squeeze page.
3: Send traffic to the squeeze page.
4: When a person signs up, he gets the freebie.
5: Send mails to that person.

This might not be the best way to build a list, because of two issues:

1: It attracts freebie seekers, not buyers.
2: If you pay for traffic, you have to wait longer to earn your investment back.

How do you solve this problem?

Easy – you change the first point on the list: freebie.

Instead of giving away a free product, you can sell a product, or send the visitor to an affiliate link.

Lately, I’ve stumbled upon 4 products that used that method. I’ve already written about the first a while back, and today I’ll tell you about the second of its kind.

Ewen Chia: Shortcut to 10K

Ewen Chia is one of the better known marketers. He’s living proof that you don’t have to be a native English speaker to make it in Internet marketing.

In this product (Shortcut to 10K – a video of almost 2 hours duration) he talks about the years he worked on his goal.

It took him 3 years, working 2 hours per evening (after work), before he finally had a break-through.

His advice to you?

“Do what works, not what’s sexy.”

True. We’re all too eager to find the next shiny object. We should spend more time on learning the tools of our metier and use them.

In this product he talks about how to set up a simple sales funnel with a profitable backend.

He says, “don’t offer a freebie – build a buyer’s list”. Good advice.

Who is this for?

If you already know how to set up a squeeze page (or are willing to use an expensive solution) then you could discover new ways of building a list from this product.

It’s not for total newbies.

It’s not a walk-through of every detail. It’s more inspiration.

If you’re an experienced email marketer, there’s not much to pick up, either.

The sound is bad. Probably because he recorded it from a webinar.

That said, it’s a decent product, inspiring, if you’re new (but not totally new) to list building and email marketing.

It’s very low-priced, so if you love inspiration, you should take a look at it:

P.S. Oh! One of the things he said was very interesting: “Email is 40 times more effective than Facebook and Twitter”. Remember that, when you’re allotting time to your projects. http://malka.im/e/ewenchiafunnel
