Just because you are a stay at home mom it does not mean that you can’t make money in your spare time. While being a mom can be a full time job, especially when your children aren’t yet of school age, there is some free time that you can use to make a good amount of money. Here are five things to consider when you are looking at making money as a stay at home mum:
Start a Blog or Write Articles Online
There is a certain art to blogging, and if you are the kind of person that can write out their ideas in an interesting format you may be able a rather successful blogger. There are ways to make money with a blog, though it’s not as easy as you may think, which means that some research should be done before you commit.
If you have experience in writing you may want to look into different online companies that will pay you for original articles and SEO content. You may be surprised at how much you can make writing copy.
Take A Customer Service Job Online
There are some companies out there who prefer to outsource their customer service to people who work at home part-time online. There may not be a whole lot of companies who offer part time customer service jobs online, but it is worth looking into. Your job will typically be to respond to customer complaints via e-mail, and while the pay may not be great per reply, if you are fast and efficient you may be able to make a good amount of money.
Get Paid For Your Opinions
You have no doubt gotten e-mails from websites that offer to pay you for your opinion. You have to be careful with these e-mails because, well, not every site will offer you the money they promise, or at least not pay you for a very long time.
There are sites, though, that will pay you so much money per opinion, though you are typically not going to see any money until you have created a certain amount of reviews. Make sure you look into each company you are considering to find the one that gives you the best return per opinion.
Start A Home-Baking Business
First things first: it’s going to be hard making money off of a home-baking business. But if you have the time, and know how, you may be able to impress enough friends and family members to warrant someone taking notice. If you feel like you have a special talent, go online to look into the steps you can take to get your sweets picked up by local businesses.
Crafting at Home
There are plenty of websites that allow you to sell the crafts that you make at home. If you already make crafts as a hobby, such as jewelry, felt objects and knit clothing, you may want to look into selling it online. If you are smart about what you do and how you do it you can make money as a stay at home mom.

Thanks, Paul π
Hosting problems! We’ve had a few of those. We’re happy with Hostgator now, but we’ve been through a lot of mostly bad experiences since 1997, where we bought our first two domains.
Great tips for starters. Love the layout of your blog with easy navigation and the color.
Thanks, Roy π We now use the same theme on all our blogs [Thesis – http://getmoneymakingideas.com/go/thesis%5D (we still haven’t implemented the changes of a few of them though), and I came up with one colour and used that as a seed colour to create a whole scheme so that all our domains are in harmony with each other. I used the free tool “Color Schemer” to pick the colours: http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html – You can use it online or download it for Mac or Windows.
