Now, THAT’s cheating! :p

Patience is a virtue, and I’m no saint.

I hate waiting! And one event I’m really looking forward to is Shawn Hansen’s live training about cheatsheets.

Do you have a bad list?

Sometimes people tell me that their subscribers are bad.

They are unresponsive, they tell me.

Well, there are certainly good reasons for that. Let me mention a few:

  • The subscriber’s email address doesn’t work.
  • The subscriber doesn’t receive the email.
  • The email doesn’t catch the subscriber’s attention.
  • The subscriber is only on the list to spy on the marketer.
  • The subscriber is no longer interested in the topic the marketer writes about.
  • The marketer’s mail looks official, bad, like a promotion, or something else the subscriber doesn’t want.
  • The subscriber has no confidence in the marketer.
  • The marketer generally sends out boring mails.

So what?

Can you do anything about those problems? Yes, all of them can be addressed.

Worst IM mistake

The worst mistake I see people commit in Internet marketing is to believe that they cannot create a product.

They falsely think that they have to be experts with unique ideas.

But if you check the products that sell… You’ll find that the content doesn’t have to be stunning new, never-seen-before ideas.

On the contrary.

Today, you don’t need to be an expert.

Let me give you an example.

Many years ago, I spoke with a woman who was into something brand new back then. It was called NLP. (Yeah, now everybody knows about it.)

She made a weight loss group, and I participated. I held Mini Britt in my hands and told her to lose weight. It didn’t work, by the way.

Our teacher was a skinny blonde, and I asked her if she’d ever struggled with weight loss. No, she said. She was naturally skinny.

At that moment, I wished she’d been fat. Hippopotamus fat. Whale huge.

Because then she would have known how to struggle, how to overcome, and how to help.

She hadn’t needed to be an NLP practitioner for that.

Okay, we sidestepped from the Internet marketing part, but it’s similar here.

You can help people with your knowledge. You don’t need to be an expert.

You know enough.

Sell me that pen

Did you watch that movie?

“The Wolf of Wall Street” impressed me a lot. I really liked the movie, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance in it. Not a totally bad guy. Definitely not a good guy either.

He’s a salesman at heart, though, and he’s not the only one. Among his friends is one who got it. When Leonardo’s character, Jordan Belfort, asks him to “sell me that pen”, the friend does no such thing.

He uncovers a need. He asks Leonardo for a signature. Belfort replies, “I can’t do that. I have no pen.”

There you are.

A need, a problem, and the solution.

Of course he would buy.

A lot of people don’t make it online with their marketing, because they are selling. Or they are afraid of selling, and therefore they never start.

But it’s not about selling. It’s about uncovering needs. Solving problems. Helping people.

When you do that, the selling becomes automatic. The customer does all the work for you.

How do you learn to do that?

It’s not something you can expect to read about in one short book and then master the following hour. It takes time and repetition. It takes daily action.

Sure, you can figure this out for yourself.

Can you make it?

My husband, Cyril, taught me how to watch movies.

He pointed out to me how Stephen Spielberg used his “can they make it” to increase the tension.

And it’s a question we often ask ourselves, isn’t it?

Did you realize that your answer will always be right?

If you ask yourself, “Can I make it? Will I ever succeed in making money online?” and you answer yourself “no,” then you’ll be right. Because unconsciously, you’ll do everything you can to obstruct your success to prove yourself right.

That would be a pity.

Are you easily scared?

I’m not. I have a few issues like escalators and paid traffic, though.

Holiday pressie

How’s ya doing? Relaxing a bit?

I was a good girl and wrote fiction this morning, but afterwards I took some time off.

One of the things I did was check a video, one of my best friends, Pete, sent me. His note said:

“Your subscribers may be interested in this.”

He was spot on!

Pete’s mail contained a link to Barry Rodgers’ site and a video he’d made. It turns out that Barry bought a $47 product that was bad, and with bad support, so he asked for a refund.

Afterwards he found something else that was free, and that’s what he’s sharing in his video.
